Get Paid for Caregiving!
Caregiving for a loved one can be both very rewarding and very challenging. To make it easier, WMEC offers a number of programs which enable you to get reimbursed for the care you provide for a family member, or for a non-relative who you support. These options include:
- Adult Family Care (AFC) – Become an Adult Family Care provider, and you can get paid to provide live-in care for a loved one in your family, or for anyone 16 or older who needs a supervised home environment to live independently. Learn more about this MassHealth program.
- Personal Care Management (PCM) – This program is a great option for those with chronic disabilities who need help with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and managing appointments. Family members who are not guardians can be hired as PCAs to provide this care to their loved ones. Learn more about this MassHealth program.
- Consumer Directed Care (CDC) – CDC is a great service option for an individual who isn’t enrolled in MassHealth (or is ineligible for other MassHealth programs) who wishes to hire a family member or another non-relative to meet their caregiving needs. Learn more.
