Report Abuse or Neglect

More than one-fourth of Americans age 65+ falls each year. The majority (60%) of falls happen in the home, 30% in a public setting, and 10% in a health care center. Falls can greatly impact the quality of life and cause limitations in everyday activities & social engagements for older adults.

Falls are common, but not a normal sign of aging. In an effort to raise awareness on fall prevention, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs Home Care Team would like to invite you to participate in the  annual Steps to Prevent Falls.  If you would like to participate, simply take a walk in the name of falls prevention anytime throughout the month of September. You can use your own step counter or count each mile as 2,500 steps. Family & pets are welcome to join in.

You can enter your steps as often as you’d like until September 30. At the end of the month, all steps will be reported and added to the state total!
