The Savvy Caregiver

March 24 - April 28

The Savvy Caregiver acknowledges that taking care of a person living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia (ARD) is specialized work. To do this successfully, caregivers need special skills, knowledge, and a positive attitude which helps them care for themselves as well. This class helps you understand the impact of dementia on both you and the person you are caring for, learn the skills you need to manage daily life, communicate more effectively, and take care of you!

This FREE evidence-based workshop is conducted over six sessions; meetings are held weekly on Wednesday mornings. The program will cover:

  • The unique impact of dementia on both the caregiver and the care recipient
  • How to identify and overcome barriers to self-care
  • Managing day-to-day stress
  • Setting reasonable goals
  • Communicating effectively with family members and strengthening family support
