A Matter of Balance

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 – 4 p.m. (8 sessions)

A Matter of Balance is a FREE workshop for older adults that are at risk of falling of whose fear of falling has limited their activities.
This session will teach participants practical coping strategies to reduce their fear of falling. These strategies include:
Viewing falls and fear of falling as controllable
Setting realistic goals for increasing activity
Recognizing environmental fall risk factors
Learning strength and balance exercises
The workshop is conducted over eight sessions; meetings are twice weekly for two hours per session and led by trained leaders. The program’s goals include:
Reduce fear of falling
Stop the fear of falling cycle
Increase activity levels and confidence
