What is it? The Elderly Nutrition Program, headed by the Older Americans' Act, is one of the most visible federal programs for elders. What does it do? The nutrition program provides a nutritionally balanced, hot, noon meal to seniors age 60+, Monday through Friday, at either a congregate mealsite or delivered to their homes. Weekend and evening meals may also be provided for those who need them. A voluntary donation is requested.
Latino and Kosher meals are available. Luncheon Clubs and Supper Clubs are located in selected elderly housing sites for residents. Home Delivered Meals
are brought to the homes of homebound Nutrition is key to the health of older persons.
