Congregate Housing is a residential, shared living arrangement that offers support and companionship, as well as privacy. It is designed for elders and adults with disabilities who do not want to live alone, and do not need the full time care of a nursing home. Congregate housing is appropriate for people who may need some help with meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, personal care, or other services. To be eligible, applicants must be 60+ or have a disability, and be income-eligible for public housing. Living locations include Chestnut Street School, and Emmet Rooney, Ludlow; and Holyoke Congregate, Holyoke. Supportive Housing offers affordable housing units combined with 24 hour availability of personal care and other supportive services, including medication reminders, homemaking, grocery shopping, laundry and personal emergency response. A noontime congregate meal program is offered in the Community Room. Supportive Housing locations:
